The Eleventh International Colloquium

The Eleventh International Colloquium will take place in the Fall of 2010, from the 13th to the 17th of September. The general theme of the Colloquium is “Painting between Local- and Period-Styles,” and the venue is Ephesos/Selçuk, Turkey.

Papers will be given from the 13th to the 17th of September in the municipal hall of Selçuk, Selçuk Belediyesi, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Taner KISLALI HALL, Atatürk Boulevard, no. 5, Selçuk Ïzmir. A half day will be devoted to a visit to Hanghaus 2; there will be a day trip to Pergamon. An evening reception opposite the Library of Celsus is planned, at the Austrian excavation house and at the Selçuk municipal hall. On Friday afternoon, at the end of the scientific program, the meeting of the members of AIPMA will take place.

On Saturday (bazaar day in Selçuk), there will be an optional half-day tour of the excavations at Ephesos, as well as the opportunity to visit the Museum in Selçuk, the Basilica of John, and the Artemision. The finale of the Colloquium will be on Saturday evening at Pamaçak by the sea.

The 11th International Colloquium of AIPMA is organized by AIPMA in collaboration with both the Institute for Studies of Ancient Culture of the Austrian Academy of Science (ÖAW) and the Ephesus Excavation - the Austrian Archaeological Institute (ÖAI).
